- Ask for board certification, in Plastic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery, Dermatological Plastic Surgery. Certification in Family Practice, Ob/Gyn, General Surgery might stimulate more research.
- Ask about hospital affiliations, and does the surgeon have hospital privileges to do the procedure you want?
- How long has he/ she been doing the procedure you want? Remember, brand new technologies will effect these answers.
- Facilitate the physical exam by wearing clothes that permit access to what needs to be seen. Bring a friend or spouse to make you more comfortable and remember more.
- Be prepared to be specific about your expectations, down time available, and how much help you will need after the procedure.
- Navigate my home page, to "Prepare for your Consult" and that will help also.
